Oh my soul, life has been lived at such a lovely fast pace since school has been out. We have played, run away to the mountains, enjoyed the company of mamas and friends, and had the pleasure of having our favorite Nanny Mickey with us for a week. I was reintroduced to my favorite concert venue. Oh my soul, I would watch ANYTHING at Red Rocks Amphitheater. It’s just a stunning display of the best our state has to offer.

I want to spend it all this summer, every single ounce of energy and love I’m given. I want to fall into bed happily exhausted from the day of play and living near to Jesus and living from the overflow of that love onto the lives of those around me.

We are in the final days of the school year. It is our great privilege to attend performances, speeches, special moments for our children. Behind closed doors it’s a mad scramble to find the appropriate attire. Children are attending most events in capri pants that were once long pants at the beginning of the school year. We are delighting in their music, their friends, and their hearts that long to share their accomplishments. I am desperately in the audience beaming upon the faces of my children. My heart is screaming, I’m here, do you see me, I’m here, and I love you.

You all made me weep yesterday, big tears of heartbreak and gratitude. I asked for scripture and you showed up like a boss. I clung to your verses, your prayers, you kind thoughts, quotes, and encouragement yesterday. I needed them. Every single comment was read multiple times. My dear friend Autumn who calls me her Anne of Green Gables and she is my Diana, told me she loved her Anne and signed it Diana-I was utterly undone in the middle of Bonefish.

What a fantastic weekend! Fire, kids, food, the zoo, dance party, and friends. We have truly celebrated and celebrated our great news. We have worn the kids out, danced their feet off, and truly given thanks for our good news. When we first heard, Ella had a half day and the others had a whole day. We ran up on Ella and rejoiced in the news of no new cancer in my brain. I could immediately see relief on her face. I know she was anxious about my brain. We all were. We went to lunch to celebrate! Food, I remember everything with food.

I can’t sleep. My mind refuses to shut off tonight. I spent the day enjoying the small graces of my life. A slow morning with friends, food, the kids, a fire, and a movie with my oldest daughter. She snuggled close and held my hand through the movie. It felt like an important day. Tonight, as I was reading to my son, he rubbed his feet against mine just the way I do every evening. Jason used to try and hide his feet from me in the covers. Now my habit is a part of his evening routine.
